Biography
Hugh Townsend is a member of the Science Management Committee at VIDO and Program Manager for Bacterial Vaccine Development. He has been a professor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine since 1980, a senior research scientist at VIDO since 2001 and a member of the Faculty of the School of Public Health at the University of Saskatchewan since 2008.
Hugh's clinical specialty is large animal internal medicine with a focus on the horse and infectious disease epidemiology. His research interests include clinical medicine, epidemiology, vaccine efficacy and development.
