Biography

Musa has completed a BSc in Zoology from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, an MSc in Immunology from the Kenyatta University in Nairobi and PhD in Immunology from the Royal Veterinary College at the University of London U.K.

Muso has also been a graduate research fellow at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi during PhD and MSc, where he studied Theilera parva, the causative agent of East Coast fever in cattle.  He also studied the virulence of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides Small Colony (that causes contagious bovine pleuropneumonia) as well vaccine trials involving this bacterium.   He has also been a visiting student at the Moredun Research Institute, Edinburgh, Scotland

Muso joined VIDO-InterVac in May 2011 as a post-doctoral fellow and his current research interests include pathogenesis of Mycoplasma infections and development of vaccines against bacterial diseases.
