VIDO scientist in the news: Discovery leads to $3.85 million investment

Before Dr. Palok Aich joined VIDO to head its bovine enteric disease program, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the University of Saskatchewan Department of Biochemistry. Working with Jeremy Lee, he was part of the team responsible for discoveries licensed by Adnavance Technologies Inc., a spin-off company developing biosensors for diagnosing disease, novel DNA-based vaccines, and a new method for producing hydrogen for fuel cells. Adnavance, which will collaborate with VIDO on the development of DNA-based vaccines, has recently attracted $3.85 million in venture capital. Aich had subsequent offers from Harvard University and other institutes and companies in the U.S. before joining VIDO.
