Chemistry, Glassware & Media, and Genomics
Overview
This group provides research support in chemical and genomic services to all research programs within VIDO-InterVac.
Main areas of expertise include:
- protein chemistry - peptide synthesis, protein purification and sequencing
- diagnostic and protein modification reagents
- DNA sequencing and analysis.
This group also provides support through preparation of culture media and buffers, coordination of chemical waste for disposal and glassware preparation.
Ensuring materials and services are provided as needed by the other research groups, this group works on multiple projects simultaneously, planning and executing projects in a timely and consistent manner.

After completing my PhD in Japan and finishing my first postdoctoral experience at Washington State University, I was given the opportunity to work at VIDO, located in the sunniest city in Canada. Being at VIDO has provided me with a unique opportunity to work with world-class scientists in a fantastic research facility.
