- VIDO’s facilities include modern molecular biology, virology, immunology,
bacteriology and biochemistry labs, and a 160-acre research station
- 15 main project streams include strong research programs on diseases severely
impacting the livestock industry, as well as programs to improve human health
in areas including food safety, SARS and hepatitis C
- Technical expertise in developing animal models
- Available capacity includes lab services (peptide synthesis, protein sequencing,
serology), clinical research, animal services and access to specialized equipment
- Expertise in molecular biology, chemistry, pathogenesis and vaccine delivery
technology for applications to livestock (beef and dairy cattle, swine, poultry
and horses) and humans
- Expertise in vaccine development including novel technologies for subunit,
killed, live-vectored and DNA vaccines
