Philip Griebel
Vaccine Formulation & Delivery Group
Dr. Griebel received his DVM in 1981 and PhD in 1988 from the University of Saskatchewan. His research is focused on neonatal immunity, and he currently holds a Canada Research Chair in Neonatal Mucosal Immunology. Dr. Griebel is also a Professor at the School of Public Health at the University of Saskatchewan.
Research Interests:
- Bovine mucosal immunology
- Neonatal immunity, specifically immune defences in the small intestine and upper respiratory tract
- Microbiome in the small intestine and upper respiratory
- Oral vaccine delivery vehicles
Current Projects:
- Developing new vaccine strategies for infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Development and application of peptide arrays for kinome analysis in agricultural species
- Development of a prion vaccine
- Development of a vaccine for bovine tuberculosis and Johne’s disease in cattle
