Training & Student Opportunities

VIDO is proud of its reputation for excellence in training. We offer valuable guidance in preparation for future careers in research, industry or government. To share our passion for research, we have partnered with organizations including the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and local School Boards to provide the following training opportunities to train the next generation of scientists and research professionals:

• Masters, doctoral and postdoctoral training programs
• Honours programs through various colleges and departments
• Summer research opportunities for undergraduate students
• International training programs
• Work experience programs (e.g. co-op placements, and technical college practicums)
• Tours, demonstrations and special events for high school students.

Interested in Training at VIDO?

Prospective students and postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to review VIDO's research programs and contact potential supervisors directly to discuss training opportunities. Interested applicants should be prepared to provide a curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, and a statement of research interests when requested.

All VIDO graduate and postdoctoral training opportunities are offered in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan. Prospective graduate students are encouraged to identify and connect with a VIDO researcher whose work aligns with their academic and research interests prior to applying to the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. 

Safety and security are of paramount importance to VIDO. All students and employees using our research space will be required to complete biosafety training and will require Facility Access Screening.
