Visiting Scientists
Collaborating for Research Success
We welcome researchers, academic teams and commercial partners from around the world and regularly host visiting scientists and participate in sabbatical arrangements. In addition to using our state-of-the-art facilities, visiting scientists are able to work and benefit from our interdisciplinary team. VIDO scientists have expertise in numerous scientific disciplines including molecular biology, virology, immunology, bacteriology, biochemistry, epidemiology, and veterinary medicine.
We are part of the dynamic bioscience cluster in Saskatoon, Canada, that encompasses:
- The University of Saskatchewan Colleges of Agriculture and Bioresources, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy & Nutrition, Veterinary Medicine, and the School of Public Health, Computer Science, and Math & Statistics.
- Innovation Saskatchewan, a science and technology park situated adjacent to the University
- The Canadian Light Source, Canada’s only synchrotron, and the Saskatchewan Research Council, National Research Council, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research institutes.
Through collaboration we have developed links with a range of Canadian and international universities, research institutes and governments. This network of partnerships has reshaped infectious disease and vaccine research and enhanced worldwide preparedness against infectious diseases.
Researchers must complete facility access screening prior to the use of our research space. For more information please refer to the Safety & Security page on our website.
Interested in Visiting VIDO?
Researchers interested in visiting VIDO should first connect with a VIDO scientist whose research interests align with their own. Visiting scientist opportunities are generally established through collaborative research relationships and require sponsorship by a VIDO host scientist.
Researchers are encouraged to review our scientific programs and contact potential collaborators directly to explore opportunities.
