Dr. Kyla Cutts, from Saskatoon SK, practiced food animal medicine since graduation at WCVM in 2013. She focused on dairy practice after graduation which took her to Cornell University in Ithaca NY for a dairy intensive summer program. From there, she worked in central Alberta for two years in a dairy & beef practice prior to moving back to Saskatchewan. She worked at Warman Veterinary Services for nine years with dairy, swine, beef, and small ruminants. It was a privilege working with independent farmers, on Hutterite Colonies, and in swine genetic nucleus sites. She has Dr. Laverne Seib (1993 WCVM grad) to thank for the exposure to dairy/beef practice at an influential age. After working through disease outbreaks on farms without guaranteed intervention or prevention methods such as vaccines, the opportunity to join VIDO in Spring 2025 to help producers in the future, was the logical next step.
When not at work, she spends her time with her husband, two kids, a dog and cat.
